Dan Kusters, Co-Director

Dan Kusters

As head coach at Council Rock-North, Coach Kusters lead his team into the state playoffs in 2007, 2009, and 2010...capping off the 2010 campaign with the District 1 title. In recognition of the team's achievements, Coach Kusters was named the Bucks County Courier Times Coach of the Year in 2007.

Coach Kusters has also served as the pitching coach at Neshaminy High School and Delaware Valley College.

As a player, he was named Bucks County Courier Times Player of the Year in 1991 as a senior at Archbishop Wood High School. His high school playing career was also recently recognized by the Philadelphia Inquirer as he was named to the All-City team over the last 30 years.


Coach Kusters was a scholarship athlete at Villanova University.


At BCBA, Coach Kusters manages the Plumstead facility, is the head coach for the Fall 2015 11U team, and runs private and camp sessions year round.



Steve Marlow, Co-Director

Steve Marlow

Coach Marlow was a scholarship athlete at Penn State University.

At Council Rock, he was named Bucks County Courier Times Player of the Year in 1988.


He brings 23 years of coaching experience from all levels of amateur baseball, including 5 years as a head coach at the American Legion level.  Coach Marlow is also the founder of the MontCo Travel League, a competitive league made up of travel teams in Montgomery County, PA.


At BCBA, Coach Marlow manages the Trevose facility and created the hitting and pitching programs used at the academy.

Coach Marlow is the head coach of the Bucks County Generals 2019/2020 travel team which has been nationally ranked by Perfect Game each of the last 2 years.  In their year-end ranking of the Top 13U Travel Teams in 2015, Perfect Game listed his Generals team as the #35 team in the country after a runner-up finish at the Perfect Game EvoShield Classic in Emerson, GA.  In their year-end ranking of the Top 14U Travel Teams in 2016, Perfect Game listed the Generals as the #66 team in the country after a 3rd place finish in the Perfect Game National Championship in Fort Myers, FL.



Patrick Devlin, Coach

Coach Squid was a 3-year varsity starter at Council Rock North.  He was a 2nd team all conference award winner in 2007 and awarded the Bucks County Pitcher of the Year award in 2007, finishing with a record of 8-3 striking out 99 batters in 67 innings.  He finished his high school career at 15-7.  He lead CR North to the state playoffs in 2007 where he threw a 1-hitter, striking out 17 in the first round of states.

Coach Squid was a Division 1 scholarship athlete at Rider University.  He played 5 years at Rider, compiling a 14-13 record in 49 appearances.  He received the 2010 MAAC All Tournament Team Award.  He led the Broncos to two conference championships earning a bid to the NCAA D-1 Regionals.  He was a Web Design/Graphic Design and Multimedia major.

Coach Squid is in his 2nd year as the pitching coach at Central Bucks East High School.

At BCBA, Coach Squid coaches the 16/17U Generals team.  He has an overall record of 108-52-6 as the head coach.  He runs the Explosive Pitching camp throughout the year and does private instruction in pitching and hitting and runs team training throughout the year.



Coach JR Barder

Coach Barder has 20 years of tournament coaching experience and amassing CYO, Cal Ripken, Philadelphia Department of Recreation, Montco, Del Val and AAU championships at age levels from 8U to 16U.

Since joining our coaching staff in 2013 as an assistant coach, coach Barder now leads our 15U Generals team.  Since taking over, coach Barder has led his teams to multiple tournament championships and 38-9 record.

Because of his coaching and tournament experience, coach Barder’s role at BCBA was expanded to became the Collegiate Placement Coordinator.  He will be assisting our high school aged players and parents with all facets of the college recruiting process, individual showcases, tournament showcases and college visits.

As a player at Archbishop Wood High School, he received the Philadelphia Inquirer’s honorable mention for the PCL Carpenter Cup team as a third baseman.

Coach Barder played at East Stroudsburg University.

John Stephenson


Three year varsity shortstop at Archbishop Wood High School. Earned All-Catholic awards in soccer and baseball along with Woods first PCL soccer championship in 2004. Played divison II collegiate baseball at Chestnut Hill College and member of their inaugural season. Currently playing for the Bucks County Bulldogs men's team in the LBML and DVSPBL.

John began his coaching experience in 2011 as an assistant freshman coach at Archbishop Wood. He later served as the head freshman coach at Conwell-Egan in 2014 and head JV coach in 2015. With BCBA, John has been an assistant of the fall 13u team in 2014 and 10u fall team in 2015


Coach Ray

Coach Ray Graduated 2007 Neshaminy High School and Graduated 2011 Neumann University Pitcher/Outfield. He holds the esteemed honor of throwing the only no-hitter in school history. Also, he had coached as Pennsbury JV Coach 2011-2013 and is the Charles Bohem Middle School Coach 2014-present. He serves as Head Coach of the Generals 10u team.

Dan Toner

Coach Toner is the Head Varsity Baseball Coach at Neshaminy High School.


At West Chester University, Coach Toner was a four-year starter and an All-PSAC selection his senior year. He played his high school ball at Council Rock. Coach Toner has also been an assistant coach with the Council Rock North and Pennsbury varsity team.


At BCBA, Coach Toner runs our Sunday hitting and pitching sessions in Trevose and also works with team development.

Marc Zahirnyi

Coach Zahirnyi runs the catching program at Bucks County Baseball Academy in Trevose.


He played his high school ball at Council Rock and walked on at the University of Delaware and Trenton State College.


Coach Zahirnyi has coaching experience at the Junior High School and American Legion levels.


Tony Donofry, Coach

At Bloomsburg University, Coach Donofry was a three-year starter and was named to the All PSAC team three times.


Coach Donofry played his high school ball at Council Rock-North and has been a coach at Bucks County Baseball Academy for 7 years.


At BCBA, Coach Donofry runs our hitting and pitching sessions year round in Plumstead and works with team development.

Coach Nick played at Bloomsburg University.


He played his high school ball at Council Rock North and was named 3rd Team All-League in his senior year.


Tom (TS) Sclafani
Instructor & GENERALS Coach

Coach TS (Sclafani) has over 10 years of coaching baseball at levels from T-Ball to Connie Mack. The former Vice President of Souderton Area Baseball League (SABL) is also the new assistant JV Baseball Coach at Christopher Dock HS. Coach TS was a football standout at Archbishop Kennedy HS & the University of Scranton. Tom is a certified Ski/Snowboard instructor, and a former Norristown HS teacher. Coach TS will Assist Coach Squid with the 2016 10U Fall Team. NOTE: Tom has been a “BC Generals Dad” since 2010. He son (Blaise) is a pitcher on the 2016 Showcase Team.
